Carlos Brito

Carlos Alves de Brito (born in 1960 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is the CEO of Anheuser-Busch InBev.

He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Brito worked for Shell Oil and Daimler Benz before joining, in 1989, the Brazilian beer and soft drinks company Brahma, which in 1999 merged with Companhia Antarctica Paulista to form AmBev. Jorge Paulo Lemann is described as his mentor.

He held various positions in finance, operations, and sales before being appointed CEO in January 2004. After InBev was formed in August 2004, Brito was named president of the North America zone and moved into the top position of the company as CEO in December 2005, where he implemented a strategy focused on cost reduction.

In 2008, after the successful acquisition of Anheuser-Busch, Brito assumed the role of CEO of the resulting group.
