Frigorífico Rioplatense is currently led by CEO Martín Costantini. He studied business administration at the University of Pennsylvania, United States, with a specialization in finance. Since 1994, he has been part of Rioplatense, the company founded by his father, eventually becoming its executive director. From that position, he leads one of the largest meatpacking plants in Argentina and Latin America, recognized for the quality of its products and its commitment to the strictest environmental standards.

Meducation

In 1989, he studied business administration at the University of Pennsylvania, United States, specializing in finance. Three years later, he worked at Excel Group as an investment analyst.

Finally, in 1994, he joined Frigorífico Rioplatense to boost the finance department. He assisted his father, Rodolfo Costantini, in operations related to the acquisition of the Santa Elena meatpacking plant in Entre Ríos, which involved financial and operational restructuring, among other processes.

He participated in the sale of the Good Mark business unit, managing financial structuring, due diligence, hiring investment banks, designing business plans, cash flows, etc.

In the year 2000, under his leadership, the HACCP system was implemented. The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes. Rioplatense was the first meatpacking plant in Argentina to implement a HACCP system.

In 2010, he designed commercial policies that allowed Frigorífico Rioplatense to consolidate its presence in the markets of China, Europe, and the United States. Its secondary markets include Russia, Brazil, Central America, and Southeast Asia.

Under his guidance, Rioplatense began operations in China, which today stands as the company’s largest international client.

Furthermore, under his direction, the company adopted the Certified Argentine Angus Beef Program, the Rioplatense Special Selection Black Box Program, and the Cabaña Rioplatense Green Feed program.

Present day

By 2016, the company had strengthened its community support through the La Manuelita Foundation, providing food to 23 community kitchens. Additionally, 180 children eat daily at the foundation’s own cafeteria.

In 2019, he established the goal for the company’s general operations to become the most sustainable meatpacking plant in Argentina.
