Gastón Parisier, born in Argentina, is an industrial engineer and entrepreneur, founder of Bigbox and cofounder of Flybondi. In recent years, he also invested time and capital in motorsports, working to connect sponsors with Franco Colapinto, the Argentine driver currently competing in Formula 1. He is the son of Guido Parisier, former owner of the Hermitage Hotel and a film producer.

Parisier often explains that his entrepreneurial path was shaped by a strong “family DNA.” Today, he balances the expansion of Bigbox—one of Argentina’s fastest-growing experience-gifting platforms—with his interest in aviation and his long-standing ambition to become a licensed pilot.

From a thesis project to Flybondi

Flybondi originated as Parisier’s undergraduate thesis during the final stage of his industrial engineering degree. The project proposed the creation of a low-cost airline in Argentina. To move from concept to execution, he sought a partner with deep aviation expertise and connected with Julián Cook, who became CEO and cofounder. Together, they navigated capital raising, route approvals, regulatory hurdles, and international investment. After years of institutional and political challenges, Flybondi finally began operations in 2017.

Engineering, entrepreneurship, and magic

Beyond engineering and business, Parisier has practiced magic since childhood, a discipline he links conceptually to engineering. In an interview with La Nación, he described magic as operating in the collective unconscious—making the impossible seem real—and argued that the greatest engineering achievements share that same quality.

This perspective influenced the creation of Bigbox. Founded in 2009, the company introduced a novel gifting model centered on curated experiences—gastronomy, wellness, adventure, and travel—rather than physical products. The core idea was to offer a gift with multiple experience options, allowing the recipient to choose how and where to redeem it. Today, Bigbox employs more than 250 people and sells over one million experience boxes per year.

Parisier views the platform not only as a consumer brand but also as an ecosystem that benefits tourism operators and service providers across the region. His stated ambition is to position Bigbox as the leading experience-gifting platform in Latin America.

Linking entrepreneurship with motorsports

Parisier’s involvement with Franco Colapinto emerged when the driver’s management team contacted him to help structure sponsorship outreach. Despite having no background in motorsports, Parisier took on the challenge of presenting Colapinto’s story to nearly one hundred companies across Argentina and Latin America. He later described the experience to Forbes as an intense but formative exercise that sharpened his skills in strategic sales and storytelling.

This role echoed earlier stages of his career, particularly the early days of Flybondi, when persuading investors, regulators, and partners required persistent communication and negotiation.

Aviation as passion and practice

In recent months, Parisier has accumulated flight hours as part of his pursuit of a pilot’s license, turning aviation into a personal discipline as well as a professional interest. He frames this experience as a direct extension of his core belief in experiential value: giving or receiving an experience can open entirely new paths.

Across Bigbox, Flybondi, his interest in magic, and his engagement with aviation, Parisier consistently emphasizes coherence between projects and personal values. He often refers to “moments” as the unifying concept behind his work—moments that define experiences, challenge assumptions, and align professional ventures with individual purpose.
