Javier Zbikoski is an Argentine businessman who serves as an executive at Grupo Metropol, a conglomerate that spans four business sectors: public passenger transportation, automotive, agriculture, and finance. The group includes La Nueva Metropol, TM S.A., and several other companies.

Grupo Metropol employs nearly 4,000 people across Argentina and operates in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, the Cuyo region, and the Litoral region.

Early years of Javier Zbikoski

He was born in Misiones, Argentina, in 1975. He is the son of Valois Zbikoski, who served as director of Don Casimiro, a passenger transport company in the city of Posadas. Javier Zbikoski earned a degree in Business Administration from the Argentine University of Enterprise (UADE). Besides his native Spanish, he is fluent in English.

Professional career

In 1997, he began his professional career at the Laureano González dealership, where he was responsible for strategic planning within the Budget Control and Planning Department.

In 1999, he joined the family company Casimiro Zbikoski S.A., dedicated to bus passenger transport in Posadas. He worked as a supervisor in the Budget and Control area and as assistant to the company president. One of his key responsibilities was securing financing to acquire the transportation company Chevallier.

General manager at Toyota Misiones

In 2000, he became general manager at Toyota Misiones, an official dealership of the brand since 1992 and part of Grupo Metropol’s automotive division. At TM S.A., he organized the Sales Department, managed the After-Sales segment, led regional expansion, and evaluated HR policies, among other duties. Within two years, the company improved its national ranking from 25th to 3rd in performance.

Since 2002, he has been vice president of La Nueva Metropol. Under his leadership, the company increased its profitability by 80% compared to his first year and renewed 70% of its vehicle fleet, enhancing its corporate image. He also secured a 10-year extension on its operating license and implemented a Total Quality Management model, including staff training.

He has been an executive at Grupo Metropol since its founding in 2013. In 2015, he established the group’s Corporate Division, which was consolidated in 2017 to integrate and leverage the strengths of all business areas. In 2018, he led the creation of a new business division focused on financial services, driven by innovation and technology. That same year, he implemented the group’s Corporate Communications department.

Awards and recognition

In 2013, he joined the board of directors, and in 2017 he was appointed president of the Argentine Association of Automotive Transport Entrepreneurs (AEETA), which represents private passenger transport companies with the goal of boosting private sector leadership in the industry.

In 2005, he completed an intensive training program at IAE Business School to strengthen his skills in the management of small and medium-sized enterprises. Javier Zbikoski is currently continuing his education and training in business-related areas.
