Mario Dell’Acqua: Education and entry into national politics
His academic background is deeply rooted in technical and industrial disciplines, with over thirty years of experience in the aviation, steel, and transport sectors. He began his formal education at the Liceo Naval Almirante Brown and completed a degree in industrial engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA).
Dell’Acqua began his professional career at Techint, a leading infrastructure company in Argentina, where he held major national and international positions.
Connection with the aviation industry: current role and progression
His appointment as general administrator of the airline group—which includes Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aerohandling, JetPaq, and Optar—dates back to mid-2016, following the resignation of Isela Costantini. The year prior, after Mauricio Macri assumed the presidency, Dell’Acqua joined the state-owned airport services company Intercargo.
At Intercargo, he focused on the maintenance and construction of boarding ramps for national airlines, particularly the Airbus line and its partners. This move was largely in line with a presidential directive, given that 80% of Intercargo’s operations fall under the Ministry of Defense. Mario Dell’Acqua officially began his current role on December 21 of that year.
