
Pierre Nanterme (born in 1959) was a French business executive best known for serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accenture.
Nanterme was born in France in 1959. He graduated from ESSEC Business School (École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales) in Paris, earning a Master’s degree in Management in 1981. Following his graduation, he completed mandatory military service in France.
In 1983, after completing his service, Nanterme began his career at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). Over the course of his tenure, he held a wide range of roles, including Head of the Banking and Financial Services practice in France.
He became a partner in 1993. From 1993 to 2005, Nanterme held several senior positions within the firm’s financial services operations, including Managing Director for Europe, Africa, and Latin America, as well as Global Managing Director of the Insurance Industry Group.
In November 2005, he was appointed Country Managing Director for Accenture France. A year later, he joined Accenture’s Global Leadership Team and was named Chief Leadership Officer, overseeing leadership development within the organization.
In 2007, Nanterme was appointed Group Chief Executive of Accenture’s Global Financial Services Operating Group, which focused on clients in banking, insurance, and capital markets. In October 2010, Accenture announced that Nanterme would become the company’s next CEO. He also joined the Board of Directors at that time.
On January 1, 2011, Pierre Nanterme officially assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, and in February 2013, he took on the additional role of Chairman of the Board.
