
Sergio Uñac is an Argentine lawyer, solicitor, and politician. He is currently serving as governor of the province of San Juan. Previously, he served as mayor of the municipality of Pocito for two consecutive terms. He currently leads the presidency of the Justicialist Party of San Juan.
He was born in Pocitos, in the province of San Juan, on February 15, 1970. He is the son of teacher Dora Ene San Martín and former Pocito mayor Joaquín “Coco” Uñac. He has three children from his marriage to lawyer Silvana del Valle Rodríguez.
Sergio Uñac pursued his higher education at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University of Córdoba, graduating as a lawyer and solicitor in 1994. During his years of study, he was an active participant in the Peronist University Youth of Córdoba.

Political life of Sergio Uñac
At the young age of 25, Sergio Uñac began serving as legal advisor to the Municipality of Pocito, during the periods from 1995 to 1999 and from 1999 to 2003. At that time, his father, Joaquín Uñac, was mayor of Pocitos.
Sergio Uñac was elected mayor of Pocitos between 2003 and 2007. After this first term, he ran again and was re-elected for the period from 2007 to 2011.
In 2011, he was elected Vice Governor and Ex officio President of the Chamber of Deputies of San Juan, accompanying governor José Luis Gioja.
In 2015, he was chosen in the primaries of the Front for Victory as a pre-candidate for governor of San Juan. In the elections of that same year, he obtained the majority of votes in San Juan.
During that same year, Sergio Uñac was elected president of the Ibero-American Union of Municipalists (UIM), an organization that brings together politicians, officials, and heads of local governments from more than 30 countries in America and Europe, with the purpose of developing governments through training and the exchange of experiences.
