Viviana Zocco is an Argentine entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of TKM, a leading Spanish-language entertainment platform, and of Grupo VI-DA. She is also the founder and CEO of an extensive Spanish-language e-book ecosystem. Zocco is considered one of the most successful businesswomen in Latin America.
Zocco was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 21, 1962. She holds a degree in Accounting from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. In 1988, she began an MBA at Universidad del CEMA, graduating in 1990. She then spent a year in Virginia, studying at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
While in university, Zocco began working at Bank of America in Argentina in 1984. In 1988, she moved on to become the Chief Financial Officer at Dow Chemical, where she remained until 1992.
In 1992, she co-founded Risk Analysis S.A. with Diana Mondino, one of the first local credit rating agencies in Argentina. Due to its success, the company was acquired by Standard & Poor’s in 1995. Zocco then became Managing Director for S&P’s Latin American origination and head of its Buenos Aires office. The acquisition was highlighted and studied by Babson College and published as a case study in the Harvard Business Review.
Zocco is the founder and CEO of Grupo VI-DA, a company that develops digital products in the entertainment, cultural, and media sectors. Its portfolio includes TKM, BajaLibros, LEAMOS, BajaMusica, BIDI.la, Vesvi.com, IndieLibros.com, GrandesLibros.com, and DualLanguage.com, among others.
In 2005, she launched TKM, originally a teen-oriented magazine. Its success evolved into an influential online community and one of the most prominent Spanish-language media platforms for millennials across Latin America and the United States. TKM has a strong multi-platform presence and is recognized for shaping trends and pioneering a unique communication style. It first gained traction in Argentina and later expanded into Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the U.S.
That same year, Zocco launched 10Musica, now known as BajaMusica.com—a Latin American-based digital music store featuring over one million downloadable songs. It was the first of its kind to launch in the region.
Zocco has focused on creating initiatives that connect technology, entertainment, culture, and education. She founded BajaLibros, a Spanish-language e-book platform; Vesvi.com, a video-on-demand service offering movies, series, and documentaries; and BIDI.la, a digital library for educational institutions and companies that provides access to a wide selection of books for universities and organizations.
LEAMOS is a subscription-based reading platform that allows users to access books from both large and independent publishers with a single monthly fee—providing near-unlimited access to Spanish-language literature.
She also launched IndieLibros.com, a self-publishing platform for emerging or unknown authors; GrandesLibros.com, a reading community aimed at exchanging and recommending books; and DualLanguage.com, a culturally integrative reading program designed for Hispanic audiences in the U.S., which encourages bilingual engagement through a solid and innovative literary format.
