Malena Galmarini

Malena Galmarini is an Argentine political scientist, wife of former Chief of Cabinet Sergio Massa. She was a councilor and Secretary of Health Policy for the municipality of Tigre between 2008 and 2019. Until December 10, she served as Deputy of the Province of Buenos Aires and then assumed the position of Chairwoman of the Board of the company AySA.

Malena Galmarini was born in San Isidro in 1975, daughter of Marcela Durrieu and Fernando Galmarini, former Secretary of Sports during the presidency of Carlos Menem. She is the sister of Sebastián (a politician from the San Isidro party) and Martín Galmarini (a footballer who plays for Club Tigre in the second division of Argentina).

She began her studies in medicine but eventually graduated with a degree in political science. At the age of 18, she joined the Justicialist Party. In early 1998, she was appointed Deputy Director of Youth at the Ministry of Health and Social Action of the Argentine Nation.

She met Sergio Massa when she was 21, in April 1996. She served as councilor of the municipality of Tigre from 2009 to 2019 and as Secretary of Health Policy and Human Development of Tigre from 2008 to 2017.
