Nicolás Caputo

Caputo is an Argentine businessman and owner of Grupo Caputo, with main business areas in construction, air conditioning equipment production, and energy, through companies such as Caputo S.A., SES S.A., Mirgor S.A., and Sadesa. In politics, he is affiliated with PRO (Propuesta Republicana), a political party in which he served as the first vice president under the leadership of Mauricio Macri, with whom he has maintained a close friendship for most of his life and with whom he has also been a business partner.

He completed his primary and secondary education at Cardinal Newman College, where he was a classmate of Mauricio Macri until both graduated from high school. He began engineering studies, which he did not complete.

Grupo Caputo was founded by his grandfather, an Italian immigrant born in Potenza, in the Basilicata region. In 1938, he established the company Nicolás Caputo Sociedad Anónima de Edificación, dedicated to the construction of public and private works. In 1944, the founder’s sons joined the management of the company, among them Nicolás Martín Caputo’s father, Jorge Caputo.
