Eduardo Elsztain

Eduardo Elsztain

He was born on January 26, 1960 (57 years old). Among the major achievements of this Argentine businessman is his most recent one: becoming president of IRSA, one of the most diversified real estate companies in the country. At the same time, Eduardo Elsztain serves as president of Fundación IRSA, which promotes the education of children and youth. He is also co-founder of Endeavor Argentina and currently vice president of the World Jewish Congress.

It is known that in 1997, Elsztain was one of the businessmen in charge of the privatization of Banco Hipotecario Nacional. This company has since been reorganized and is now a public limited company. This transformation occurred due to irregularities committed during the privatization process.

In 2014, he was named vice president of the World Jewish Congress. In addition to presiding over Grupo IRSA, he is its majority shareholder. He is the sole owner of Alto Palermo, Shopping Dot, Distrito Arcos, Abasto Shopping, Patio Bullrich, and over 60 retail stores, two convention centers, and more than 130 parking spaces.

Grupo IRSA has been linked to the current government and, as such, has drawn public scrutiny. Some government officials have been reported to the judiciary for allegedly favoring IRSA in various political campaigns.

An Argentine magazine estimates that IRSA’s current wealth exceeds 10 million dollars.
