Andrew N. Liveris (born May 5, 1954) is a prominent business executive and currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Dow Chemical Company, a global leader in chemicals, advanced materials, agrosciences, and plastics. Headquartered in Midland, Michigan, the company reports annual sales exceeding $57 billion.

Liveris has been a key member of Dow’s Board of Directors since 2004. He became CEO in November 2004, and was elected Chairman of the Board as of April 1, 2006. In his role as CEO, he has played a central role in shaping the company’s global strategy and navigating Dow through major transformations, including mergers, acquisitions, and realignment of core business areas.

Beyond his role at Dow, Liveris has also served as a White House advisor, participating in economic and manufacturing policy initiatives under both the Obama and Trump administrations. He has co-chaired the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership and advised the President’s Export Council, reinforcing his influence in both the private and public sectors.

Andrew N. Liveris was born in Darwin, Australia, and is notably proud of his Greek heritage, often emphasizing the legacy of his immigrant grandparents. He completed his secondary education at Darwin High School and earned a First-Class Honors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Throughout his career, Liveris has been a pillar of leadership at Dow, overseeing numerous strategic initiatives designed to enhance the company’s core capabilities and its ability to deliver customized chemical solutions to clients worldwide.
