
Eduardo Enrique Wado de Pedro (born November 11, 1976) is an Argentine lawyer and politician from the Justicialist Party who currently serves as the country’s Minister of the Interior. He previously served as National Deputy for the Province of Buenos Aires, as a member of the Council of Magistracy, and as General Secretary to President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Personal life of Wado de Pedro
Wado de Pedro was born on November 11, 1976, in Mercedes, in the province of Buenos Aires. His father, Eduardo Osvaldo de Pedro (b. 1950), a law student at the University of Buenos Aires and a member of the Montoneros armed organization, was killed by the regime of the National Reorganization Process in 1977. His mother, Lucila Adela Révora (b. 1953), was kidnapped by state authorities in 1978 while pregnant; her name is mentioned in the Nunca Más report. Eduardo Enrique, then two years old, was later raised by his aunt Estela Révora.
Like his father, de Pedro studied law at the University of Buenos Aires and later earned a master’s degree in public policy from the University of San Andrés. He is a founding member of HIJOS.
