
Federico Trucco is a biochemist from Louisiana State University (1998). He later earned a master’s degree in weed science and plant pathology from Colorado State University (2002), and holds a Ph.D. in crop sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2005), where he also obtained a certificate in business administration (CBA) (2003).
With over 15 years of experience in creating and developing companies that merge agriculture with biotechnology, Federico Trucco has always been passionate about the advancement of biotechnology and its impact on agriculture.
This fascination is closely linked to his father, an influential farmer who championed technological advancements in the sector. While Federico was beginning his graduate studies, Víctor Trucco, together with Gustavo Grobocopatel, Rogelio Fogante, and a few other friends, founded Bioceres—then a project management firm in the agri-biotech space.

Bioceres operates as a business platform across multiple technology segments, with one of its companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE American: BIOX).

He was also recognized with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Argentina in 2019. Additionally, from 2019 to 2023, Federico served as president of the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology.
Federico Trucco was born in Rosario, Argentina, on May 27, 1977. He is the son of Víctor Trucco and María Cristina Fossaroli, both first-generation university graduates and descendants of Italian immigrants who settled as farmers in the south-central region of Santa Fe Province.
