
Alejandro Bulgheroni is an engineer and businessman born in Rufino, Santa Fe Province, on October 24, 1943. He is well known in the energy sector and recognized for his wealth, often highlighted in Forbes magazine.
Who is Alejandro Bulgheroni?
Bulgheroni is the son of Alejandro Ángel, an Italian immigrant who, in 1948, entered the oil business by manufacturing flanges (rings that connect the pipes forming an oil pipeline) to sell them to YPF. His company became known as Grupo Bridas.
Alejandro Bulgheroni studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires. He is married to lawyer and television presenter Bettina Guardia. According to Forbes magazine, his wealth is currently estimated at over 4.8 billion euros, making him the richest man in Argentina. He also controls the largest oil field in the country: Cerro Dragón.
His legacy
In September 1997, Amoco (a U.S. company that later merged with British Petroleum) acquired part of Bridas, and together they formed Pan American Energy.

Together with his wife Bettina, he founded Bodega Garzón in 1999 as an agricultural and livestock venture known for its high technology. This led to the production of Colinas Garzón, an extra virgin olive oil that has won multiple international awards and ranked among the ten best in the world.
In March 2016, Bulgheroni and his wife inaugurated the second phase of their 19,050 m² winery in Uruguay, located between 150 and 170 meters above sea level. The project includes tourism activities and a restaurant with a capacity for 120 guests.
